it's so funny how a few years ago on /mu/ people were amped on sacred bones, but now that those people, who enjoyed the aesthetic brought to them by sacred bones, have sought out the underlying influences and roots of those aesethetics and have become "core" now believe themselves to be above and more legitimate than sacred bones. they do release a ton of pretentious shit though, and some of their most popular artists represent that...

the graphic design and their logo definitely cater to edgy youth, but in a way that is at least tasteful and not overtly ostentatious. i like it most of the time.

i'm honestly not a huge fan by any means and i found out about them in 2010-2011 when they started to get big. they showcase a lot of gothy post-punk shit. super artsy, pretty emotional and psych-y too.

three easy artists to get into on them are probably (in order of easiness) Amen Dunes, The Holydrug Couple, and Follakzoid. Those all are pretty psych-y, but they also have some noise shit (Pharmakon - receives TONS of shit on /mu/, whether or not this is deserved is up to opinion, but it's hard to deny the points that haters make on her) ultra-avant shit (Jenny Hval - lauded by critic sites/magazines, often made fun of on /mu/) etc.
