It's ignored because it's boring and tired. Most modern country acts are contrived and sound completely derived from previous musicians. There was a time country music was great as a whole, but most "Country" acts these days - (Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney etc.) kinda suck.

Country music isn't inherently right-wing. Johnny Cash was putting out music protesting the treatment of Native Americans at least half a decade before it became in vogue with the hippie generation and lord knows how many people Willie Nelson has turned onto pot. I've heard more country songs critiquing poverty and class problems than rock songs, ya just gotta know who to listen to.

Is there any good modern country with experimental/lush instrumentation? When I say experimental I mean for the genre specifically.

Here's the Cash album I mentioned earlier protesting the treatment of Native Americans. Came out before it became a hot button issue among hippies (and before the hippie movement itself), before it became an interest of Hollywood actors like Marlon Brando. It went to number 1 on the country charts and so did it's main single.

Going by your metric Woody Guthrie was right-wing, almost all of the qualities you described as white-wing apply to him. He was white, working class, Christian (even has at least one song specifically about Jesus), was as working class as working class can be (which is something he has in common with Public Enemy, I guess they have right-wing tendencies too). The only qualities of his that are on the nose are pro-masculinity (he was still damn proud to show his love of cowboy and outlaw culture) and his pro-individualism, though even that can be argued.
