>>
Wew. One thing you can say about these musicians: they're pretty creative!
>>
I don't think it'll be a revivalist movement because revivalist movements are like cliches/heard language.

But whenever government gets fucked up, interesting art does happen. Really the good examples are Butoh dance and writers like Osamu Dazai during Japan's imperial era, the Plastic People of the Universe band in communist Czechoslovakia (not to mention Vaclav Havel himself), and lots of other stuff.

The thing people don't seem to remember is that when punk's first wave happened, Thatcher wasn't in office yet.

Interesting art is always happening. When government is fucked up, some of that art is inevitably protest/political. I do think some interesting things will be done in the next few years that will be political.

I also think everyone's in denial about how bad things can really get. We've never had an administration this volatile, inexperienced, and reactionary.

But while I'm for you saying whatever you want, I'm going to call you out on your retarded bullshit. In fact, I have a duty to do so because I believe in open discourse. That's what you retards don't seem to get - just because you can say retarded bullshit doesn't mean no one gets to point out how retarded you are.

But Bush at least pretended to be interested in policy, Trump has just smirked and squinted his way to the top.

There won't be a 3rd world war, but it will be a cringefest watching him working with foreign leaders. I can already imagine the UN leaders using words and bringing up events that Trump just straight up does not understand, and them all laughing at him about. That's the worst we'll see with his presidency, so it's not so bad. It is definitely embarrassing though.

100% of EPA regulations the obama administration imposed on the natural energy sector under the guise of "climate change".

if obama had not vetoed the senate's approval of the Keystone Pipeline installation (which passed with an overwhelming majority) i would still be employed right now. but hey, American can't become self sufficient on fuel because that's not playing nice with Saudi Arabia, the country that's been responsible for more American deaths than anyone else.

As I woke up this morning, I looked at the time on my alarm clock which is set by the Bureau of Weights & Measures. I got up, showered, and heated a breakfast burrito in the microwave. Thanks to the USDA and FDA, I know my food won't make me sick when I eat it. I then greeted my son as he got ready for school. Thanks to our public schools, he will receive a quality education that ensures he becomes a productive member of society and also keep him away from crime and drugs. As I got into my car, I reflected on the various safety features that the NHTSA requires motor vehicles to have. The state DOT also erects traffic lights, guard rails, stop signs, and other things to ensure that my driving experience is as safe as possible. Thanks to the local police force, my home is safe from being broken into and robbed while I'm at work.

When I arrived at work, my supervisor handed me my weekly paycheck. Because of federal minimum wage laws, I am guaranteed a livable pay. When I retire, Social Security will provide me with an income to live on. And because of various other regulations, I am guaranteed a safe workplace environment.

After coming home in the evening, I went on my computer and browsed www.ronpaul.com where I learned about how the government is stealing from me and taking away my freedoms.

Oh no dude I totally agree, I've shot more deer than most people see in their life. It's cheap, good meat.
But I wouldn't go so far as to say Republicans are pro environment. Some are, sure, but then you have the guys who want to drill for oil directly though Bald Eagle nests, and they seem to be the majority.

Regarding CNN, they also caused the LA Riots in 1992 by replaying the video clip of cops beating up Rodney King over and over, while omitting the part where he charges at them.

At that time, CNN were suffering from really pathetic ratings and so they figured "Hey, let's stir up a huge race riot. It'll be a good news story."

who would've thought?

but seriously we are not going to see a punk revival. punk is angry and passionate, it wants to star a movement.

most liberals just want to be accepted amongst their peers and be praised for being progressive. they aren't angry, passionate or actually want to change something. they just want a pat on the back.

and like tons of people said he isn't even president. if he's actually terrible and 'literally hitler' i will be one of the first to join liberal ranks and fight the orange memelord.
>>

Welcome to the politics of the Lunatic Fringe.
On the right, we have people who want to dismantle the government completely and advocate for assassinating the president.
On the left, we have people who want the government on every face of our lives and advocate for assassinating the president.

An oft missed point of punk is that it was as much a response to the current climate of rock music as anything. It was meant to be music for the common man, an answer to the rock Gods trying to showcase their skills on big stages to sold out arena crowds. You have some buddies who have instruments? Learn a few power chords, get together and become a part of the movement!
>>
Arcade Fire is liberal? That's a surprise to me, The Suburbs feels like a rather conservative album

Trump is for the common man too and is a response to the current climate of the stale left wing.

He, unlike every other politicain makes no secret of his own wealth. He respects the electorate enough to not try to hide it from them because he's not treating everyone like a retard as if he's holding a carrot in front of a donkey.

The common man doesn't give a shit about stupid stuff that the press and left wing says that they do.

He's a businesman with many companies. It's basically part of his job to be able to exploit the state, and that's just the nature of it.

Just be thankful that you have a genuine person running your country rather than a bunch of anonymous pencil pushers and lawyers.

Because most of the people that voted for him think the Clintons run a child sex ring in the basement of a pizza hut.
People aren't worried about him exploring the tax code, they're worried about him committing literal crimes.
It's kind of super massively hypocritical of him to bitch about Obama not releasing photos of each individual hair on his balls and documentation on when they grew in, but he won't share his tax returns?
