It's a great record, tons of replay value and truly interesting song structures with an astonishing production to boot. But don't expect anyone without any patience to enjoy it.. meaning you won't find many here willing to discuss, let alone listen, to this album.
My only gripe with the album at this point is that We A Family is an absolutely unbearable closer for me personally.

The Terror was mostly Steven's work, and Wayne's lyrics really enhanced that album

Oczy Mlody's disappointment is the result of them basically exhausting the 2011 style and not knowing where to take the material thematically, basically the same issues Mystics had. They'll shake it up and come up with something fresh just like they do every time they exhaust a style.

Drozd is a brilliant musician and I would drool over some serious solo work of his (Electric Wurms doesn't really count, I pretty much just consider that a Lips EP). This is a common plight for talented songwriters: they wouldn't have the career they have now if it wasn't for silly frontman stardom antics. The problem with the lyrics is that the album itself had no direction and was rushed (which is all on Wayne).

It seems like they restarted production on it at least once; it was at first shaping up to be a prog album with Space Dope, a new version of The Switch That Turned off the Universe and the "inverted" versions of Dead Petz tracks. When Dead Petz changed directions (remember when it was supposed to sound like "Pink Floyd meets Portishead?") I think it killed that version of the album (and Wayne revisiting an ancient Soft Bulletin outtake isn't really his style). Despite this, the final album has a Peace Sword outtake and potentially a Dead Petz outtake on it.

The material on Oczy Mlody was mostly written and produced in 2016, finished quickly enough to have vinyl ready in January. For perspective, The Terror was mainly recorded by Record Store Day in 2012 and they took an extra year to polish it. The songwriting on Oczy Mlody is basically generic 2011-style Lips with a Yoshimi coat of paint.

On top of the rushed production, the album itself has no idea what it is supposed to be about. Was it about middle america feeling helpless and turning to opoid pills, like How?? and the outtake Jest suggest? If so, that theme is majorly axed from the album. If it's about the rich having hedonistic parties to escape their problems, it accomplishes this nowhere as well as Heady Fwends did. The fairytale elements Wayne talked up are only found in like two songs. Many tracks, such as Do Glowy, are literally filler with no concept behind them.

The problem with Oczy Mlody is that an album was made because it had been 3 years since the last one and not because they were inspired.
