Who was the better prog drummer?
Bruford, obviously, fuck.
Obviously Bruford. Bruford is top 50 of all time level drummer, Collins is just a really, really good drummer

This. The only amazing skill Collins has is his ability to simultaneously sing and drum at a high level. Musical genius, but not really noteworthy just for his drumming compared to a guy like Bruford.
Best non-prog drummer coming through.

Wasn't even that good, should have his own ranking tier though just because he was fucking Keith Moon
Best is Bonham, Peart or Copeland

Quasimodo on the left right there
Bruford easily
Obviously Bill Bruford, but Michael Giles really needs to be in the conversation. I've never heard anything like the drumming in "I talk to the Wind", to be able to have the drum part define such a gentle ballad is really quite remarkable. Obviously he could do schizoid stuff as well. Shame he became a session musician after McDonald and Giles more or less flopped.
Carl Palmer deserves a mention too, gets no love what with the shitkicking ELP gets from all comers these days.

>Peart can't swing
