Why am I crying?
This is my first time listening to this, and learning that he killed himself actually broke my heart. This music is so beautiful.
/mu/ can be a cesspool of pretension, but today I'm thankful that you /mu/tants recommended me this album.

You sound like a warm-hearted Anon.
Not completely related, but sometimes I focus too much on music tastes, and I forget that people can be wonderful regardless of it, as I don't agree with OP but I am amazed by the way he sees it.
Godspeed.

That album won't leave you for a long time, at least it hasn't for me.
Enjoy.

It's a beautiful record, the guitar work is phenomenal and nick really had a knack for capturing meloncholy in a beautiful way. It's a shame people attribute his (and other musicians) ability to his depression as if that is what enabled him to make his art.
More life so soon
The cry is free

Agreed. I'd confidently say it's the most beautiful album I've ever heard, and certainly the most personal one. Nick was obviously a more complex character than the depressed artist image people pin on him.
"From the Morning" is one of the songs I want to hear just before I die. It's the perfect goodbye - filled with love for the world and its beauty despite constantly being reminded of our mortality. Nick has left, but every time we listen to his music he is back here with us again.
OP, check out this documentary on Nick. It's the best one made so far, in my opinion.
