As in The MPC 500 or Sp-404

what do you need out of a sampler?
>>70402288
I always come up with beats when Im not near my studio, I just need something to get ideas out of my head with
mpc - the 404 isn't really a good beat sampler
>>70402430
For sure, thats what I was hoping would be the answer. Thanks

deff the mpc then the workflow is fairly natural and it use the same filter and efx algorithms as the 1000 and 2500 which are becoming classics in their own right
but make sure you max out the ram (it takes off the shelf early 2000s 128mb laptop ram), get a 2gb compact flash, and the mpcstuff brand pad corx, its practically unusable without them.
an ipad is also a good choice but theres no replacement for real pads
friend of mine uses the korg electribe 2 groovebox when he's on the road (for techno), might be something for you.

i think he wanted something battery powered
>>70402664
Yeah, I considered that, but Im more into making hip-hop
>>70402601
Yeah, I hear alot about the MPC's workflow. Ill be sure to keep the ram in mind as well when purchasing.
>>70401536
MPC for sure, more versatility
500
404 has some nice effects but the 500 is better in every other way

the new electribes are shit
