they've only gotten coverage because the rest of the lineup is a bit of joke.

Kind of symbolises Trump more than anything. No one is especially concerned about his policies or political ideas, everyone knows they are mostly a big joke like the Wall. They are instead focused on his entertainment potential and what kind of music he will march into the ring to, like a WWF star. An ersatz Springsteen would have been a perfect postmodern commentary. Maybe they could get Pussy Riot in to do Neil Young covers.

All the celebrities who decide to get into politics are just losing more fans than they are getting.
