I already have 10 GBs uploaded (including the starter 5 GB upload), but it's still difficult. There aren't many people seeding. Luckily I have been a bit lucky (such as filling a 2 GB request by asking a blogspot user to upload something for me lol) and found some neat tricks to build ratio, but it's still not enough.

No FL anymore, that's why I regret joining so late. I had no idea you could have joined with WCD proof until a week ago and I was aware of PTH being a thing since the first week.
I still haven't snatched those FL though, are they still worth it? It has been a lot of time already.

What had open signups at the beginning and you're making out the issue with bad transcodes to be far worse than it actually is. Also the community has been good at spotting any bad transcodes and the staff deal with them promptly. These are all teething problems and the tracker is still going strong. In time it will be even stronger. I'm not saying it'll ever be as good as PTH but the economy is decent right now and it's the next best alternative.
