It's really not as great as it once was. I asked /mu/ in another thread who they though was a genuine, standout R&B artist the answers which I got back were Anderson Paak (hugely overrated, his voice is so thin he can't even sing in a concert setting) and a number of relatively obscure singers. The ones who are dominating the scene right now are half rappers and tween stars like The Weeknd, Chris Brown, Post Malone, Drake, Partynextdoor etc. Some of their music is ok but the content and general sound isn't really geared towards adult men.

jeremih is the best right now imo

r&b is pretty smooth that's my contribution for the day
