What sort of headphones does /mu/ use?

I use speakers for home listening. When I'm out I use some cheap $10 earbuds. I have a pair of Audio Technica cans I never use.

Sennheiser > Technica > Apple earbuds

A few other good wireless earphones and maybe Sony if I'm desperate

What are the best over head headphones as far as value for money goes? Looking to upgrade from the junk I have

sharp treble had hurt my ears on more than one occasion, but I owe most of my ear damage to leaving my amp on different settings after switching out headphones.

What headphone amps does /mu/ use with their ATH-M50x's?

Are ATH-M50x's really that big of an improvement over the M30's? Is it worth forking over a couple hundred for them?

I got akg k612 pros when I was in a similar situation. I really like them. Open ear at ~150 price is my recommendation.

Currently using these too, I like them but am considering an upgrade for when they inevitably break. The thing is, they're incredibly sturdy and I've gotten free replacement parts and it feels wrong to replace something that isn't broken.

Is it worth to upgrade to maybe pic related (Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 250 Ohm) or ATH-M50x? I use headphones about 30~ hours per week. Other suggestions are welcome.

But to answer your question, yes I prefer the LCD-2 to the sennheiser hd650. The LCD-2 is on a whole other level. It makes the music sound way more detailed, you can hear little sounds that stick out more, whether they be little sounds up close or sounds recorded far away that sound like they came from somewhere in your room. The whole presentation is way wider and much clearer and intimate.
