Punk died when corporations realized that the anti-consumerist, anti-corporate, fuck society counter-culture kids were consumers too and that the corporates just had to market the product in a way that fit with Punk ideology. Pretty much taking all power from the movement by the normalization of counter-culture and fuck-the-establishment.
