Totally agree with you man. John has a very good understanding and respect of the blues. Each album he's released is a bit different from the last so it's not stale and recycled. I honestly believe the man can play any genre he wants, but excels in blues and pop. If you haven't already, check out some of his unreleased songs.

I didn't have that much respect for his music until just sat down and listened. All his chord progressions seem so unique and fluid nothing is recycled pop garbage, it's almost all inventive and original. Looking forward to learning some of his songs just to pick up on some of the things that he does.

Not a huge fan of John Mayer, but I can respect his playing ability.

He has only gotten better after joining up with Dead and Company.

His exceptional guitar playing ability will forever be overshadowed by his shitty songwriting (for the most part). I think he did a phenomenal job covering Bold as Love as well as Free Fallin.
