>oh, anon, you like jazz? me too! what do you listen to?
>(musician who has practiced his entire life)
>hmm... no, sorry, I've never heard of them. have you listened to (a highschool sounding band)?
how do you respond?
>>70186333
>Oh, i don't know anon i don't really dig them, why do you like them? (let him respond)
>oh, my musician? well, i like him because....
(and then he will be so fucking ashamed)
>oh you like jazz? me too. frank sinatra's definitely my favorite, dean martin's up there though
i dont really like snarky puppy and the cat empire
a dissapointing lack of herbie nigga in this thread
>>70187159
You mean lil herb?
>>70186333
Are you implying that Snarky Puppy sounds like a high school band? If so I agree.
>>70187394
Yes.
>>70187421
The exact scenario in your post actually happened to me, I actually respect the guy who said it to me, so I didn't think much about it besides some internal cringing. Some people have alot more tolerance for cheese. Some of the guys in Snarky Puppy are really talented ,just as a whole they make such boring music.
>>70186333
No I haven't, I'll check them out, thanks.
>end conversation like not an autist
wow that was hard
>>70187704
>invoking a conversational dead end
>calling other peoples autists
I have some bad news for you
I'd smite him for thinking ANY musicians jazz skills are better than almighty Herbie.
>>70188141
Herbie is probably the most talented actual player.
Miles was the best band leader and possibly composer.
>>70188296
>Herbie only the #2 composer
Rampant jazz elitism is why I love Snarky Puppy.
>>70188372
He's still pretty incredible in that regard. Not many people can make these huge, creative jazz walls of sound and have them come together as a cohesive whole.
>>70188385
>rampant enjoyment of talented, creative, well practiced musicians
god forbid. pretty impressive that you can change your tastes based on ideology though.
