Why do so many metal albums have stupid ass vocals? The music

I know your pain, OP. While I'm not against harsh vocals entirely, I'm extremely picky about them. Here's a few off the top of my head that're more clean and melodic in the vocal department.

Myrath - Tales of the Sands
