wow what an old relic

the modern average /mu/tant is on the second level, and a lot of the stuff at the bottom has risen in popularity

Popular music has specific authors with rights to their creations and they're in a studio so osensibly they have the intention of releasing it under their own name. Your comparison makes no sense.

That was the worst attempt at distorting a very basic argument I've seen outside of /metal/
>>
>>70140497

you're saying that papuans (for example) aren't authors of their own music?
>with rights to their creations
and you also think they have no rights to their own creations?

so? do you think papuans were making their music with the intention of getting it recorded and sold to people in countries thousands of miles away they've never even heard of?

After listening to Toshimaru Nakimura's Color Quanta and reading ab interview with him, I can say that Nakimura and people like Nakimura are delusional: and we feed those delusions. Its literally random sounds. They aren't gifted at making random sounds, they literally make them randomly. Nakimura just twists a knob to change the timbre of feedback. At this point it seems like some kind of elaborate joke. Listen to Spectral Light and tell me with a straight face that this guys is seriously making "music".

There's a reason the bottom rows aren't listened to. They're shit.

Roman Haubenstock is pretty listenable desu. Why is minimalism under sub-/mu/ really? Anyone who's attended music school would know the genre. Stochastic music and Iannis Xenakis are pretty much synonymous and so are open form chance music and aleatoric music.

I know this is all played for laughs but it's just funny to me where the inconsistencies lie like Cornell Ornithology lab is above whale songs and why isn't there any mention of Conlan Nancarrow? What does the "classical" genre even entail would it include romantic era composers? How about the 2nd Viennese school?
