I doubt it's really contrarian for this place but I never really got into the beatles. when my friend showed me some of his fav songs, I still didn't really get it. I mean I could see why people enjoy the music but could I see how the band is regarded as THE GREATEST BAND ON EARTH OH FUK... nah, not really.

"meme" rap is 100 times better than all the mainstream shitty trap rap that's out today. Rappers like Lil Yachty, Ugly God or OG Swaggerdick at least have some sense of humor, they don't take themselve too serious plus they have unironically good music. Nas is a shit. I acknowledge that he is an extremely rap technician and lyricist but none of his music is really enjoyable to listen to. I can pick out a couple of tracks from Illmatic that I sort of enjoy and maybe a handful of songs from all of his albums after that but other than that I just can't fuck with his music. I think his inability to drop a major commercial record since the 90s indicates that many other people feel the same way but aren't willing to admit it. If we all love Nas so much, why the fuck haven't we been buying his shit since 99?
