I don't know any albums but I usually discover jazz tracks from tracking where the samples used in hip hop beats are from.
Something like Loveless, pls....

It's very concise and controlled, unlike some other jazz albums. No dicking around, just great songwriting

Bitches Brew if you haven't heard it already. You can also try stuff like Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Chick Corea. Fusion is a good way to get into jazz if you like rock.
>>70065342
For Dubstep, try Blackleg. Dub Kitchen is a short EP, not many tracks, so shouldn't be that hard to get through if you don't like it. For Techno, try Jon Hopkins - Immunity and Clark's S/T.
>>70065040
You might like some of the more psychadaelic freak folk stuff like Big Blood - Dark Country Magic. Angel Olsen's first album, Half Way Home, is good too. I also like The Devil Makes Three's self-titled. For some more traditional stuff try Pete Steele - Banjo Tunes and Songs, which is on Folkways Records.

I'm a big electronic enthusiast but I never got into Techno, at least after the Berlin school took over. It's growing crazy fast here in Brazil with lots of new producers getting introduced and also a lot of big names coming to gig down here. Can somebody enlighten me? The Black Saint and The Sinner Lady is a great entry album, daring enough but still accessible. Won't put you to sleep like Kind of Blue.
For me:
>Black metal
>>70074290
You can start out with hybrids of black metal and other genres. For example, ambient black metal (such as Wolves in the Throne Room and Myrkyr's EP) and black/death hybrids (like Thantifaxath.)

Try Codeine's The White Birch or Grace Cathedral Park's In The Evening of Regret. You might also like Dakota Suite, though I dunno if you'd call them slowcore.
>>70073792
I guess my music is kinda chiptuney.
handsofprogressiveengineering.bandcamp.com
Decline is my most recent, also probably more chiptuney than the others. Slump is more industrial, and Lock is more noise-influenced. Give a few tracks from those a shot if you feel like it.
>>70075027
>Disco
Try the Mutant Disco and the Disco Not Disco compilation albums if you're into post-punk. From there try Kid Creole and Coconuts or Off-White by James White and the Blacks.
If it doesn't hit you right away try ESG and Liquid Liquid (especially Cavern) first.
Maybe try early house music and going backwards into Hi-NRG, post-disco and eventually disco. Or if you like hip-hop try some of the really early hip-hop stuff like Funky Four+1 or Kurtis Blow.
Or try Giorgio Moroder or other Italo Disco first, pic related.
>>70075109
If you're interested in weird Pagan prih folk, Comus is great. Otherwise, check out stuff like Nick Drake, maybe James Blackshaw. Chad VanGaalen is a bit folky too. Try something from Shrink Dust.
>>70065479
come, here, looks like you need a hug <3
also, I wouldn't say I don't like but I'm not familiar with Dungeon Synth
>>70075369
"prih" should have been "prog". My bad - I am typing on a phone and am doing so halfheartedly.
Emo
I'm sorry but every album I've listened to in this godforsaken genre is either the most mind-numbing homogenous bs or irredeemingly awful.
>>70075435
What genres are your favorites? Emo is (somewhat unfortunately) a tag used to describe a whole boatload of rock music that ranges from pretty good to literal poopcrap
>>70065449
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - Iron Maiden
>>70073501
Defenders of the Faith by Judas Priest
>>70075214

>Screeching Weasel- My Brain Hurts

I used to hate emo until I got curious about it and found out it branched out from hardcore punk in the 80s. Rites of Spring is a good starting point even if you don't love it. I felt that lo-fi punk made me see all rock and metal in a new light.
In the 90s, it kept on branching out and blending with different genres. On one end, you had mellow bands like Low and Mineral. On another, there were more twinkly bands like Sunny Day Real Estate and Cap'n Jazz. On yet another edgier branch, there was I Hate Myself, Saetia, Orchid and Deadguy. In the late 90s and early 2000s, it seemed to blow up in the mainstream with Evanescence, MCR, Linkin Park, Slipknot. In the indie scene, there were bands like Saosin, United Nations, A Perfect Circle, Pg. 99, a shit ton of metalcore and screamo Hot Topic tier bands. In the 2010s, I've been noticing a lot of indie rock and post rock mixed with emo getting big, thanks to tumblrinas.
Anyway I'm still not a big fan of emo, nor have I ever been. I just don't hate it anymore. These are just things I learned over the past few years.
