Folk, rock, metal, whatever genre. If you've got songs where murder is part of the subject matter, post'em.
Here's a really obvious example to get us started off:

This one probably counts. It takes a long time building up, but the described method of revenge used during the song would be leaving someone for dead, and the protagonist certainly seems to succeed in getting some form of revenge, even if he doesn't survive the whole thing.

this gem :^)
There is not a good version of this song, by the artists, on Youtube that isn't from Rock Band or whatever. So here's a weird film musical adaptation performed by Steve Martin instead.

Kill yourself

Because Lloyd Price did it better and that part of Cave's career including that album were very hit or miss
>>70056411
that album and dig lazarus are my favourite cave albums, I haven't heard Lloyd Price
>>70056411
sounds alright, a bit like Fats
>>70056445
Fats is great too, which I hope is what you're implying
Cave's best album is Junkyard...the 90's was definitely his most popular period and I do love his Stagger Lee version but it was already an established classic...Dig Lazarus Dig is one of about four Cave albums I've never heard, I got turned off by his 90's stuff quite a bit
Anyway, in the topic of the thread, the World Gone Wrong album by Dylan has a few great ones

LONG LIVE L'A

I mean... the title is appropriate.
But I don't think this is a ballad, by any stretch.

Ah, fuck. I need more stuff like this. Dark stories with cool instrumental groupings.
