A Study In Noise is a nice track to listen to but it probably would be better being organised into a more structured piece. The guitars and drums sound professionally recorded (no technical problems to hear). It is a bit quiet though as I had to turn up my volume to 100% to hear clearly.
7/10
>>70057582
The release Virtual Dream is a cool ass Vaporwave album being it is the first one to take me back to when I was young using bulky computers in school and playing consoles like the PS2. (in which a lot of vaporwave albums fail to do).
You use a lot of samples from old technology jingles or even rip TTS vocals from Windows with the song LiFe. My complaints is that the album is not consistent with it's themes. Songs such as Childhood feel like chiptune songs rather than vaporwave songs. I can also see you take a lot of inspiration from Blank Banshee with your use of trap beats in mix with start up sounds.
Overall I liked the songs, I don't have the means to buy them now though, sorry about that.

This isn't a good release: generic guitar riffs that don't try anything new or different and mixing so god awful I can't even hear the vocalist (worst examples being New Age Traveler and I Love Jesus). The cover art is a bit cool though but other than that it was a horribly produced track.
2/10.
>>70058555
The release with the really long album name has a really cool, minimal guitar part with some kick ass drums. If not for the recording quality and cringey vocalist it would be a 9/10. Good luck to the guys playing the instruments, they have great talent!
8/10
>>70057085
Awesome electronic release Entropy brings me back to classic electronic dance songs like Children by Robert Miles with it's atmospheric
synths and drums. A must listen to. If only I had the money to buy it lol.

>>70058537
thank you very much for the review I appreciate !!!
I am very happy you like it but I don't understand why a lot of people tell me, like you, that is interesting and is Vaporwave while other tell me that isn't vaporwave and it is only garbage or a music created with a tutorial to make vaporwave ... I don't understand if I am doing well or no.
>>70056838
Jesus this album is something else. As Paula Fazlich said you have some amazing talent. It reminds me of Silent Hill with it's metal soundtrack and dark, depressing tones (even the cover art looks like on of the enemies, weird coincidence). Don't stop creating, you are a very talent musician and need to get your voice heard.
10/10

>dark folk, folk
thank you all.
>>70058718
To be honest you are very good at mixing and layering all those samples without it sounding muddied and your atmospheric sounds from the last track are very soothing and well made.
It is up to you were to go from here: I started out using tutorials on Youtube and now I'm past that. They think you can start making music off the bat but you need some sort of foundation. I'm not saying you did look up tutorials, I'm just saying those guys were being harsh. :p
>>70058734
This release is flawed but has some talent behind it. The music played is played nicely and is consistent with the genre of folk. My problem lies with the mixing of the songs. Besides the song Ethylhexylglycerin (which is my favorite by the way) the music actually covers up the vocals to the point where I'm confused whether I can hear them singing or not.
I like the instrumentals but brush up on your dynamics and you can come out with a better produced album.
6/10
>>70058761
Oh ok I understand thank you very much !!
>>70058821
You're welcome! :D
>>70058813
>>70058734
Interesting thoughts. While i was listening to this i actually thought the "flawed" production was really helping it achieve a mysterious aesthetic. For example, the second track is totally on spot with your statement of vocals being obscured but he seems to play with it by allowing this wave of noise overtake it, letting us know this was all completely intentional. Plus it sounds incredibly cozy
>>70058875
Well that's just my interpretation of the pieces, it's not nearly as bad as some other albums I've heard on these threads when it comes to mixing but it didn't feel intentional (at least to me).

I'm a huge fan of house (though i wish i did listen to it more often) so i was happy to see this but i tend to gravitate towards artists like Delroy Edwards who put more emphasis on innovation and experimental production over high quality. This isn't to knock you down btw, your stuff is obviously professionally made and will cater to many people's taste but i'm hoping (if you haven't already done so) that you'll be attempting to elevate house to a higher artistic standard by doing something similar
>>70058386
i'm quite rarely on house stuff but that was enjoyable and catchy anon, 7/10 :)
>>70059060
Something like genre changes? I tend to listen to brands like Mau5trap and Monstercat and stray away from artists who work for Spinnin' Records due to their songs, imo, sounding the same.
So yes, my new album will include more types of music.

Nice to see some field recording here. While the buzzing sound is kind of distracting on the "Asellidae" works it kind of creates a nice and kind of cold atmosphere (which is a nice contrast to the subject of recording a living being). Are any new "Index of Biotic Integrity" projects in the works? It would be nice have some material in the style of A. T. Gaul's "Sounds Of Insects".
I will give "Alders in the Middle Reach" a listen. The second track sounds promising.
>>70061108
Thanks for the feedback! While there aren't any IBI's presently in the works, I do hope to make more as time allows. The problem is finding taxonomic groups that make enough noise haha. I tried one with scuds (side swimmers, order amphipoda) and their method of locomotion seemed to provide very little point of contact with the surface. Maybe I'll find more time next weekend to get out and find some bugs that it will work well with.

You guys are producers I want to know what you think, is using drum kits found online being lazy or cheating? I layer some sounds but keep some the way they came. are sounds like that royality free, should i worry about someone trying to sue me over it if i got paid for something i made with it?
ive been using r/drumkits
>>70064027
Here's my stance:
Using drum samples is a very popular choice but it all depends on how you use them. Some drum samples only have one sound per sample (which is the best for endless possibilities) and some have actual fully produced, finished drum beats (worst kinds, limits creativity). The latter samples are seen as lazy and cheating as all the hard work is done for you.
It is also important to credit the sample companies (for me they are ProducerSpot and TheSmokeTonez). If you don't credit them you may have to sell your music non-profit or get into legal issues later down the road.
