I use drum kits too dont worry
I also sample a lot of noises to layer on drums too.
As long as you dont just use one kick and one snare you should be fine

this is cool, but I think you might just want to redo the drums because it's the only part that's actually metal, you know? If instead you put in some fun punk drums, I think you'd have something for cohesive. Also, you don't need to sing to sing punk!

I like your work! It's very Madlib as someone pointed out and it's not super hard to figure out you drew inspiration from Madvilliany but I feel that could be a problem. It's never good to sound too similar to another artist. I think you have some really great ideas floating around though and it sounds like you're just having fun with it at times.
