Tool live concerts are pretty mind blowing. Over the top lighting and special effects.
Pink Floyd would probably fall into that category for effects.
I never had the chance to take in a Gwar concert. From footage I've seen, it looks like a fun interactive experience.

Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Deep Purple, Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band and Pink Floyd were all bands whose shows were as good as, if not better than their studio releases.

But plenty of others had fantastic live performances as well:
Yes, Jethro Tull, Genesis, Miles Davis, Gentle Giant, Soft Machine, King Crimson, ELP, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix...

Rush was not better live, they reproduced their studio work to a T when playing live. Cheap Trick was 100% better live. I think you need to do your research.
