Also Jellyfish's entire career was basically spawned by XTC's song 'Season Cycle' so listen to Skylarking

It's not really as bombastic as Jellyfish but you should really listen to Jason Falkner's (their original guitarist) first solo album, it's great. Also Roger Joseph Manning Jr's solo album.
