holy fuck that gave me some powerfull nostalgia. mike mo was my favorite back then, the 2000`s was the golden age of skateboarding. fully flared is still the best video ever, even though its super cheesy now.

I can't fucking explain what this song is or why it exists.
There's this obscure fucking lets play group on youtube, fairly mediocre, never got big. I think they were connected to a bigger group that I was involved in the community of, I only really know about them second hand so I'm foggy on the details.
But, and this was a few years ago, a few friends and I were reminiscing, and on a whim I was going through their channel, and, there was this video that seemed out of place.
It was called "Shanghai Winter Nights" and looked to be some girl singing a song into her webcam, which is exactly what it was. I have no idea why it was on this channel, I don't know who this girl is, I haven't seen her in any of the other videos (I didn't watch them all though, there were a massive amount of lets plays I was not prepared to sit through), and no other songs like this. There was nothing in the description or comments or anything to explain why it exists. As far as I can tell it wasn't a cover or anything, I've looked up the title, the lyrics, and I can't find anything, not one mention of this song anywhere.
I clicked on the video for a laugh, figuring it might be funny or something, it seemed so out of place. But, something about it, it just, reached me, like deep down. This song's had this fucking effect on me like few others. I wouldn't quite go so far as to say that the song itself is this brilliant piece, though I certainly consider it good, but it just strikes this chord with me, it taps into some memory, some forgotten emotion, that is brought to the edge of recollection. I keep coming back to this song, even years later.
I tried to find it just now, to post here, and it's looking like that video, along with a lot of the videos, was deleted from the channel. Luckily I downloaded the video and audio a while ago, so I still have it, but I don't really have anyway to post it here, which makes me really sad. It honestly makes me sad that it's off of Youtube.

It feels weirdly personal sharing it to strangers. It's weird, it's not my song, I have no connection to it. But somehow it feels very revealing.

upload it back to youtube

a b-side is still their best song
>>69984299
Eh, I'd rather not. I really don't know what the context around the video is or why it was taken down. I don't want to put it back up if whoever it is would really prefer it be kept down.
Besides, my internet's even more shit than it used to be, and it takes me fucking HOURS to upload anything to youtube, and I'm not doing that shit right now.

10/10 meme music, maybe. It's not bad, but it's only 10/10 if you set the mood-- I bet it's fucking fantastic if you turn all the lights off and take some drugs, but otherwise it's boring and uninteresting. Again, I don't mind it but it's nothing to crow about.
>I'd give it about 6/10. Boring, but has a clearly defined mood.
>With drugs: 11/10.
>>69982655
Icky, disgusting sound. Unsettling and dirty. Also fucking BORING. That guitar riff isn't good enough for the artist to be using it the entire fucking 4 minutes of the song with barely anything backing it up. The icky/disgusting feeling could be a positive thing if the song actually had some creativity.
>3/10. Boring, bland, with a hideous sound that doesn't even play into any larger theme.
>>69983156
Now here's something. This also has a dark and dirty sound but it actually goes somewhere. Not terribly imaginative though.... it gets off the ground but doesn't truly fly. Unfortunately this seems like just another band trying to do Tool without having the expert musicianship to make their music POP.
>7/10. They're doing something but it isn't special.
>>69983157
>2:15 long
>uses Pachabel's riff
I mean I like what little is here, but this isn't a fucking song. It's a goddamn snippet of someone's idea for a song.
>0/10, disqualified, KYS
>>69983227
Finally some fucking melody. If you don't understand why this is better than everything above you are literally a nigger and you will never appreciate music. Honestly I don't even like this song but it's better than the forgettable, pop trash above.
>8/10 it's in the air, it's flying, but not very ambitious.
>>69983291
Groovy. But still boring. (text limit)

Beautiful singing. The instrument is a Ukelele which you're probably not used to hearing so it sounds more interesting.
Here, I'm sure you'll enjoy this overly emotional piece, you pleb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ThQkrXHdh4
>>69985390
Part of the reason I thought the video would be good for a laugh was because I saw it was a ukelele song from the thumbnail, I didn't expect to like it that much with the ukelele.
Though I must say, I really like it's use of ukelele, she uses the sort of pitiful, plinky sound of a ukelele to powerful effect. A lot of people just use it because it's small, portable, and quirky.

I made a thread earlier today asking about this but got no responses. I've seen a different seventh wonder album discussed in a metal thread so I wouldn't be surprised if I'm not alone here.
This song is a fucking masterpiece, especially the last few minutes. I discovered it a few years ago and I really enjoy the story.

A mega link for the album is in the archives btw in case anyone else is interested. The second song seems to be the wrong one though.
