nice. I am in envy.
Headphones: Sennheiser HD280s - $250 new
Speakers: Logitech somethingorotheridfk not awful tho - $130
Interface: Mbox Pro - $450 second hand
Gonna get me some studio monitors so that I can actually trust what I hear when I'm mixing when I have the money. Have an amp sitting in the garage that's in the $3k+ range so should be aight.
Logitechs make fine listening speakers though, but not having much detail for more experimental and subtle stuff makes me sad.
Headphones were like £150
USB DAC/Amp was £100

Do you recommend the akgs? I'm torn between them and the sennheiser HD600 memes.

Usually it does but at some point the law of diminishing returns comes into effect so you're paying a lot more for something only slightly better.

I feel like "audiophiles" care more about sound over the music. That being said, I own the HD 598 SE and a Fiio E10K DAC/AMP. Got them both as gifts and they service me well enough since I had poorfag earphones before.

I care much more about the music than the "sound". But the music is much more enjoyable with better sound

To an extent that's probably true however I consider myself a music enthusiast audiophile who likes the music I care about to sound the best it possibly can do. It can be a curse, there's nothing worse than a good album ruined by shitty production, made all the more apparent by good equipment - see Embryonic by The Flaming Lips.
