Post underrated 80s pop.
Everything Sarah Records put out in the 80's
>Prefab Sprout
Big influence on latter era Destroyer. This album and Protest Songs, From Memphis to Langsley Park, Jordan the Comeback
>Scritti Politti
>Orange Juice
>George Michael
The above is a case for the underground music heads. Hes a giant of pop music

Great band, them and the Postcard Records roster in general.
I'd also recommend checking out bands on the NME C86 compilation or otherwise connected to the scene

I was actually just making a post about that when you responded to my earlier post, what a coincidence.
This too in retrospect the indie jangle anorach scene from a far had some good shit like Teluah Gosh, some C86, early Primal scream

Yup, good stuff. The 80's indie scene was unstoppable. I think I mentioned most of my favorites by now, but I can't forget Pop Will Eat Itself.

I swear 80's and early 90's British indie music trumps most American music of our times sometimes.

Yeah, a lot of the black sheep bands that were kind of ignored in their own time aged real well. Love to listen to the stuff.

When we move forther away from bands and scenes and times we re-evaluate stuff that gets overlooked and shit on. Whether that will happen in the future with all the critical opinions and voices and thinkpieces and better criticism only time will tell. However a band like XTC had amazing albums and a super consistent discography. Forgot to mention them.

I think you're on to something there. The passage of time has been kind to the 80's and retrospective analysis has helped us narrow down the best or most underrated bands of the period while the mediocre ones are largely forgotten.
Life's too short to crop
Has anyone else here listened to Billy Joel's best album?

Not his best song, but it sounds like it should've been a top 10 single. It's so catchy.
