Because no one could admit when it came out that it was music exclusively for ecstacy forays, and thus it was given life it could not sustain.

oversaturation. it was replaced with big room house, which is now evolving into trap. such a shame because dubstep is excellent. riddim is excellent and i like it better than dubstep, but i miss the nostalgia
