What Beatles albums are essential? Serious discussion, granted we can still have some fun. This might sound insane but Beatles For Sale is totally perfect. It has one foot in their early pop days and the other in depression soaked singer/songwriter approach of the later work

Fuck their early albums.

Revolver, Sgt Pepper, MMT, White Album, and Abbey Road are essencial.

Let it be MIGHT be, not certain.

Abbey Road, The White Album, Revolver and Rubber Soul are the best.
If you like Beatles for Sale that much, you might enjoy Rubber Soul as much (kinda in the middle too).
>>
Oh yeah, though I never like Beatles for Sale that much, Baby's in Black, Eight Days a Week and No Reply are really good.

the albums are short as shit, you might as well listen to all of them, as a part of the music historiography.

all of them

Oh come on, With The Beatles is great.
>Better production and overall album compared to Please Please Me
>Less filler than Beatles For Sale
As for Hard Day's Night, David Bowie was a huge fan of that album. It really shows in his early singles too.

I've always seen A Hard Day's Night and everything beyond Help! as essential. Please Please Me, With the Beatles, and Beatles for Sale are passable, but still great albums in their own right. I love their whole discography though and I don't think there's one Beatles album that isn't essential. (Except Yellow Submarine if you actually consider that a bonafide Beatles album.)

Abbey Road, MMT, Sgt Pepper, White Album, Revolver, and Let it Be (naked preferred) are the stand out releases, in my opinion.
