I was just reminded of a time about 7 years ago when I met a bunch if other teenagers on a cruise ship. One girl, undoubtedly the most mature and coolest of the group, flirted with me throughout the week. But I had never kissed a girl and didn't know how to pull the trigger.

At the end of the week we all exchanged Facebook info. I only had a few dozen friends in FB at this point. When we were doing this she confessed what was already obvious; that she had liked me very much and wish I hadn't been such a shy pussy all week.

This only made it more unbearable for me. I thought about it for months after the boat docked in New York. Some time in the fall on a night I particularly missed her attention I wrote on her face book wall "so I think you're pretty much the last person I havent said hi to since the cruise, what's up?" She said hi back immediately, but I noticed too late. By then nearly every other kid from the cruise had commented "what are you talking about! I haven't talked to you since the summer!" and other variations. The conversation didn't go much further.
