Why does /mu/ hate Pearl Jam?

Because they were a popular rock band from the 90s and pitchfork doesn't like them.

I never understood this. Ten was decent, Vs. was great, Vitalogy was awesome, No Code was great, Yield was great, Binaural was great, and so on. I've seen these guys live 8 times now and they have so much talent and energy. Great band but most people on here are dismissive of them because Ten had a couple grunge meme songs on it.

I like ten and some of vitalogy. I havent really listened to much else desu. its pretty cool though that their drummer alternates from PJ to soundgarden

people hate them simply because they were the key band a lot of post grunge bands like creed directly ripped off (at least in terms of vocals) so people decide to hate them by association

Everyone who labels Pearl Jam as boring buttrock has only listened to the singles from Ten. No Code is their best imo and Binaural is their most underrated.
Also, as a live act they beat everything else I've ever seen.
