The cover art to Still appears to be a zoomed-in-to-the-point-of-abstraction live concert photo from the fragility tour. The lower corner being the edge of someone's (probably T-Rizzle's) shoulder.

With all this events of that tour. The problems in the Japan leg of the tour, the drug relapsing, the chaos of the road, etc; there is a lot of uncertainty and untold stories from that time.

Maybe the new EP itself is not the thing that is "not the actual events" but this is a reference to the AATCHB-era having a sense of not being accurately represented or fully told.

I'm surprised at the positive reception the EPs getting, because man, I'm not feeling it after two listens. Burning bright is the closest thing to what I'd call good, but even that's not doing it.

I'm not really mad or disapointed, because I haven't REALLY liked nin since the fragile, but this isn't even on par with the slip. I'm putting all my hopes into deviations now.

I forget how much I love NIN until a new release is out. Thank you based Trent.

I guess this is the 'single' off this EP. The Idea of You sticks more to the tried and true NIN formula. Like a lot of recent NIN it lacks the kind of explosive energy of the earlier material. It sort of sounds like Trent is trying to mix this new sound with his old, (and its an improvement over say, The Slip)
I can see that riff really growing on me though, Ill have to wait and see.

When The Slip came out I pretty much hated it, and overtime it grew on me as this really solid rock album and now I adore it.

I feel a little bad that the only NIN album I genuinely enjoy is Pretty Hate Machine. I don't understand why people consider it to be a synthpop album when it's basically the pinnacle of the late 80s EBM sound. I mean, Down In It is basically a cover of this Skinny Puppy song, but with samples of Trent sighing replacing the guitars and clearer vocals.

I actually remember enjoying Broken a lot. I discovered it around the same time I started listening to Big Black, and Broken felt like a less lo-fi type of their work.

Heresy is actually my favorite song of TDS. It's noisy enough to sound like it's from Broken, and the lyrics are corny enough to remind me of PHM.

Also, I feel like PHM's really bad lyrics (intentional or otherwise) make it all the more special than their other albums. Trent's singing on That's What I Get makes me laugh every single time. He sounds exactly like some edgy 14 year old complaining about getting turned down by a girl he likes. In a way, it's a lot more empathetic than their songs about drug abuse and the like.
