Not a fan of Arab, and Arca is a little high, but hey no foul.
Hey
was on a passport binge this morning
how the fuck can you remember how much you liked albums?
literally listened some things years ago and i don't remember shit about them
>>69823022
I rate albums right after listening to them
>>69823022
I rate stuff based on how much I feel I would play that particular album in the future
a 2 is good, but not something I would play often
a 5 can be as good as 2 but the sort of thing you play often
at least that's how I do it.

well I usually rate albums not long after listening to them
but my rating is mostly based on how I felt after just one listen, I mean if I listen to it again later I could have a very different reaction to it so there's not much accuracy to a lot of my ratings
I actually like the Motion City Soundtrack album but the production completely ruins it.

Agree on Silent Shout. Contemporary synthpop as a genre won't get much better than that.

I had listened to about 1000 albums before I started rating to keep track of everything, and then for a few years, I was rating new music as I listened to it but then also relistening to old stuff that I didn't have clear in my head to re-rate it
Now I've got about 4000 albums rated, and I'm going through the last 50 or so I'd heard before I started rating that I need to relisten to...the ratings change if I go back to an album and find I like it significantly more or less
In general though, 3 stars or less I don't plan on listening to again (with a few specially marked exceptions I want to give another try) and 3.5 and above are the ones I keep in my collection in their entirety (as opposed to just the standout songs) because they are pretty much solid throughout
