It's more interesting to me than what he was doing before, but it doesn't quite feel like he's there yet. I'll definitely check out whatever he does next, granted he continues this progression.
The textures in 10 d E A T h b R E a s T are fucking fantastic though; that song alone takes this from a low 5 to a high 6 for me.

Production masterpiece. experimental in some ways and successful at doing it - feel like im always hearing something new whenever I listen to it. vocal melodies and harmonies are amazing - very memorable and clearly well thought out. relatively diverse instrumentation too.
however, in saying this, i was disappointed about some aspects, namely the length and the song writing.
very rigid, not a whole lot of progression, some of the songs could have been fleshed out further honestly. 34minutes in length... i mean hey I love justin vernon, easily one of my fave songwriters operating today, but this album is a solid 7/10 at best. Previous bon iver has been upwards of 9/10.
