Should I get Guitar lessons or Piano lessons? I already have a guitar at home and can play open chords really well as well as barre chords kinda, it's hard switching between some of them but I feel I could keep teaching myself that. It would be easier with a teacher though.
I have no piano knowledge however and would love to get into theory. I wanna make music as a hobby and the sound I'd like to go for would be heavily dream poppy, think boss rv5 reverb/delay pedals (gold standard sound would be beach house). Problem with piano is i dont own one at home tho i could get a keyboard eventually but it's not the instant gratification of the guitar i already have at home that i can play whenever along with lessons
Help me choose pls

Just find a good guitar teacher. They'll teach you theory and picking up some basic keyboard skills isn't as hard once you know another instrument.

Piano lessons are good to learn to read music in general, but I found it really hard to translate that music reading ability to guitar sheet music. I guess it depends on what you want to learn

Piano lessons is the best way to learn music theory, also is pretty common/easy to be a self taught guitarrist
piano. you can be a decent guitar player just from watching video lessons and shit but piano, u need a real teacher imo

Yes
But if u can't afford a keyboard how u gonna afford a not shit teacher?

cause i can afford one now and then get the other one later, I'm a hungry biology student
Might as well go with guitar if that's what you already have. A keyboard good enough to learn properly on is going to set you back hundreds of dollars; it'd be more expensive even if you didn't already have a guitar. Plus, guitar is a simpler instrument.
