Because I don't, and I feel like I'm missing out on something. I tend to love this style of Post-Punk, but this is mostly lost on me except for a few songs (Beyond Good and Evil, Thief of Fire, We Are Time) which I really like. In what mindset should I listen to it for the rest of it to 'click'?

There's nothing to get
Just a bunch of west-hating socialists who made a pretty mediocre post-punk album

But I usually love this

the songs you like are the only good ones on the album
Bruh you either like it or you don't. You don't need to 'get' it.
You don't. You like a few songs and think a bunch is shit. The only difference from others here is that you're not praising it all treating it like a pokemon card. It's as if you are not a drone.
That's fine. Listen to Gang of Four instead
Post punk is the most overrate crock of shit i've ever heard. Grow some balls.
this was my first /mu/ album and i pretended to like it to fit in

Nope Boys From Brazil is the best.

Snow girl is also really good, but yeah a lot of the songs aren't worth that much effort

Just skip to more conventional funk-based bands likes Pylon and Au Pairs, there's no shame in it.
Post-punk is great when it cohesively marries sonic experimentation with great fucking pop tunes, which this album doesn't do very well imo.
Does anyone in this thread actually even like this album? Does anyone at all?
