I like video games, but people who pay money to hear a orchestra play a Super Mario medley instead of real classical music need to be executed on sight.

Why?
>video game """"""""""music""""""""""
Unless it's high budget "main" music, it's usually nothing special. Most games from the last 2 gens are basically just "background_set_piece_for_epic_action_scene17.mp3" or whatever. Nintendo are probably the ones who put the most work and polish into their videogames, and their soundtracks are always pretty great. Same with a lot of other japanese companies, like the Silent Hill games, Souls series, SotC, Nier, Katamari series. Obviously not counting NES/SNES era game music, because that's different.

Kota Hoshino (Armored Core, Soulsbourne) and Jeremy Soule (The Elder Scrolls, Guild Wars) are both fantastic composers even outside of their viddy gem stuff.
Hoshino was the one who got me into music that wasn't dadrock as a kid.

More like only autists care about what you listen about
Diablo has a cool soundtrack

Sure, you have some gems like Bastion and Transistor, Fez, FTL, but most are just simple videogamey electronic music, chiptune, synthwave, all the same few genres, and they're decently effective ingame, but outside of it they're barely mediocre, let alone interesting and unique.

There are some great ones, but if you like at game scores and soundtracks as a whole (and not just the awesome, atmospheric ones), a lot of them are just background noise.
