Descendents - Milo Goes to College

other than the homophobic comments (which were normal at the time) it's very honest. suburban white kids complaining about their parents isn't edgy

I love that album/band, but Milo Goes to College is not that edgy. It was a lot softer/more melodic than most of its hardcore contemporaries
I like the first half of GG Allin's discography, and I don't think it's possible to get edgier than that

Once again, Captain Sweden saves the day.

This, the album was actually brilliant because it was less edgy than most hardcore punk at the time
Most bands were either political anti-Reagan type stuff or just generally aggressive or skeptical - this album's just about being a dissatisfied young person. The lyrics are funny and heartfelt, and there's a lot of melody in the songs too. Even down to the cover, for chrissakes.
Basically, yeah - I wouldn't describe it as edgy whatsoever. Black Flag was edgy. This wasn't.
I am unapologetic in my love for edgy music. It's more interesting than twee, coy crap.
