Are the rumors true?

From the very beginning. They start off as very comfy ambient with very comfy synths and slowly get more abrasive and experimental per release.

Incunabula and Amber ain't a bad place to start desu.

Chronological is fine.

If you're coming from being a fan of aphex and/or boc, LP5 is a good starting place. It has that 90s IDM sound but its very much their own take on it so you'll be getting something new and familiar at the same time. Tri Repetae is a good one after that which is heading more towards the sound of early 90s production.

With their post 2000's stuff Oversteps is probably the easiest to get into if you like more ambient stuff. Then I think you can go anywhere from there at your own pace.
