I understand what you mean. It was Treasure & Garlands that hooked me with their chorus-drenched gothic feel, and HOLV seems to lack a bit of edge compared to those.

For me it's because their albums are largely flawed with at least one or two meh tracks. Or if they're very consistent in the case of HoLV or Victorialand, it's just a tad too underwhelming compared to the other albums. Their best work is their Spangle Maker EP imo
