What are your parents' music taste anons?
My father was showing me his vinyls from his childhood. It was mostly boring 70's rock like Glenn Hughes and Deep Purple as I already knew he liked, but it turns out he actually likes a bit of decent Jazz and Jazz-Fusion as well, and he played Cobham's "Spectrum" album for me which I liked. Pleasant surprise.
Anything surprising or good about your parents' music taste?

The top 2 hits of 2001 were the ones released on the 11th of September :^)
Dad I think was very hip and cook at one point, listening to devo, talking heads, b52s, the the, early midnight oil, etc etc
Then for some reason he moved onto dadrock i.e led zepelin, acdc, r.e.m.
Mum listens to whatever is playing on the "smooth" station, shit like george harrison
She is also very against music that doesn't have lyrics
My mom used to be pretty patrician but now she's seemed to lower her expectations and mainly listens to pop music now. She's always been a big fan of NMH, Velvet Underground, Popol Vuh, and Tortoise but now she also listens to Die Antwoord and shit. I've played her some typical /mu/core bands like Swans and Death Grips and she really liked them, so I guess she still has a bit of patrician in her.
