i feel like lonerism is way more out there sonically. there's nothing like the instrumentals on keep on lying or music to walk home by on innerspeaker, which has a far more generic psych rock fuzz sound imo

inner speaker is the late 60s early 70s throwback album, kinda led zeppelin-ish mixed with cream and beatles

lonerism is the early 70s prog/psych pop album like wizrd a true star or the beatles abbey road, almost rock opera-ish in alot of ways but more bedroom band like stevie moores delicate tension or ariel pinks output, and is fascinating from start to finish

one of my favorite bits is the ending of suns coming up, its literally just a guitar with tons of layered effects pedals just noodling about with a tape loop of kevin walking on the beach with his gf at the time melody prochet, and its just kick ass as fuck i love effects pedals

if you love 'loveless' or shoegaze lonerism should be your favorite album because while its not a strictly shoegaze type album its like the next step up from shoegazing but more arranged
