just discovered shoegaze im pretty certain I'd be happy if I were to only listen to shoegaze for the rest of my life
the whole emotional versatility of guitar fuzz, from like meditative drones to sunny happy shit, to depressed detached shit. It's great. And normally I'm not like into the image of any style or whatever but even the whole blurry twee look gets to me, there's so many qts in these bands man
Welcome to your first day on /mu/, newfriend. Enjoy your stay.

shit slapps, pal
don't worry shoegaze gets old and samey after a couple months
Transparence is such a good song
This board was once all metal, then it became Shoegaze until vaporwave hit and summer came and then it was all pitchfork

I think most people feel exactly that when they listen to Loveless the first time. I know I did. It's easy to become disillusioned with shoegaze however, because no one has really found a way to progress past Loveless yet.
Post which shoegaze you've listened to so far.

Shoegaze is really good when you have higher end equipment, especially headphones with lots of soundstage where you can ironically listen to every layer and appreciate how it intricately comes together. Bad shoegaze is just noise at the end of the day
You should listen to Punk Jazz. It isn't mentioned here much but it is awesome

Pretty much how I felt when I discovered shoegaze. I fucking love it. I'm not so sure why I avoided listening to any shoegaze albums for the longest time.

Anything by Midori or 385, I personally can't find many albums flowing out there. I wish I had some english albums, but japanese bands are way easier to find.
there is also Progressive Experimental Jazz like this which is lighter but still good

this. shoegaze is more of a technique than a genre to me at this point. interesting things can be done with it but its mostly boring pop rock that's recorded slightly differently

actually it is not... if you took more than 2 seconds to research it you wouldnt look stupid right now
