I wouldn't say that, Hesitation Marks was an unexpected album in terms of sound and tone, but it is much better than making the same stuff again and again.

If you were into NIN just because "My screams" then you lost so much more about what NIN had to offer. "Various Methods Of Escape" might be one of the best tracks he put out.

Remember, Year Zero was released while Manson was in full blown decadent delusions. And even then Year Zero wasn't about the Bush Administration.
