Oh okay gotcha. Well I really just rate based purely on my enjoyment of the album. I don't have any sort of autistic "objective" system or anything, and as far as the intricacy of the rating scale, I like it because it would irk the living hell out of me to have like a 6.5, 7, 7.5 system and have 50 albums that I enjoyed different amounts be the same score. I also don't want to be too complex to where it's just messy or hard to dissect, so I settled on xx/100 to be a solid scale

How so?

Within the context of the artist's discography then yeah it is up to them but comparing a release to literally everyone there needs to be balanced definitions. I think that's the main if not exclusive reason that there's such a difference in length with albums being called ep and lp is that the artists are in fact just defining it in relation to their own discography.

My shortest exception this year for lp is magrudergrind at 23:30 and my longest exception for ep is massive attack combining their ep Ritual Spirit and the Hope Sandoval single Spoils for about 27 minutes as recall.

EP = 7 or one sided 12 inch because you can fit around 7 and 12 mins on each respectively. Anything that is too long to fit on a 1 sided 12 inch is an LP. There are several sub-20 mins LPs from this year that are great, if thats what you're looking for.
