Could you post a picture or post the catalog number of it? I think mine one might be an original pressing according to other copies on Discogs but I'm not sure.

How much did you pay for yours?

First pressings of The Free Wheeling Bob Dylan and Jefferson Airplane Takes Off.

There are different songs on those that were deleted from later pressings.

Venom - At War With Satan on the Banzai label

I sell the really rare valuable stuff as soon as I find it. I have a lot of records that are worth $50+ though that i've found at thrift stores for $1. Some of my best recent $1 finds are OG mono Pet Sounds and a promo Judee Sill s/t which are worth about $100 each.

>being willing to pay more than $20 tops for any record

You can always get something cheap if you're willing to play the waiting game, especially with modern albums. They depreciate like a motherfucker as soon as the hype is gone, or if there's a rerelease, which is inevitable these days.
>>
>>69641957
That's easy if you live in the US. Can't order anything for less than 20 bucks in Europe. The shipping always adds up to 20+ euros in the end.
>>
>>69641957
most ive spent on a record was 45 and it was for a rare genesis bootleg--i usually dont spend more than 15 for a record, at most 40 usually

but govt plates is one of my favorite albums and i dont think theyre ever gonna rerelease it. i hope youre right
i dont need the plate (as much as i'd love it)
>>
>>69642028
As soon as people stop memeing them, the albums'll get cheap. I'm waiting on Exmilitary to not be so absurd myself.

A lot of modern albums are ridiculously priced for no fucking reason though. &&&&& is a very good example.

Found a copy of Midnite Vultures by Beck for 50 cents at a Salvation Army. Was worth about $200 when I got it but I think it's been reissued since then so probably not worth nearly as much now. The record in the picture isn't mine, I'm sick and don't feel like getting up to take a pic of mine lol

Worst is a fucking dvd from some terrible Colombian reggae group. The video aspect is just a black screen with the band's name in Times New Roman in the middle.

you sound like a really fun person to hang out with.

I bought it over a year ago, I've listened to it countless times. The record has no scratches, and the sleeve is in perfect shape.

But either way, I don't really care about semantics. It's my favourite album, and I own an original copy. That's all I wanted.

It's a very thin record from a small label, one that was probably originally purchased at a small Minneapolis bar punk show.

well, if you're paying over 120 for a record that is covered in enough hairlines to be called VG+ and then be about 80 bucks, that just sucks for and is on you for not knowing or apparently caring about grading.

Wasn't Demon Days fucking everywhere in the 2000s? I remember my neighbor working at a thrift shop when she was in college and the place was packed with CDs.
>>
Rarest I have is either the Animal Crack Box comp or some of the Vektroid releases on tape
This is the one I could sell for the most theoretically though
>>
vinyl of You'll Cowards Don't Even Smoke Crack signed by Viper.

Lol wtf man, I have about 50 records and that's the only one I've ever paid more than 25 bucks for.

$150 isn't really that big of a deal. It's a piece of history.
It's a thin flimsy punk record that probably cost $8 in 1984. That's not the fucking point. It's the greatest album ever made.

Do you even enjoy music?
>>
>>69649357
i can go buy a 99 cent scratched to shit jazz record because it's a "piece of history"

the point is, you could have and likely totally blew loads of money on an overpriced copy, supporting price gougers who do just that.

That's silly.
>>
i have the new orbs albums signed by orbs
that's my only signed thing i'm proud of

LUM's boxset

Was the LUM boxset worth the money? And did you get one of the first print ones? It was really tempting but it was expensive as shit and I never got my Exmilitary tape from him despite tons of emails over years so I figured I wasn't giving him any more of my money
>>
>>69650131
dg is meme music, boxset was shipped str8 from travis instead of ormolycka

yea its worth it + you can flip in few years for 500% if you feel like it

Got one of those Illinois 10 Year Anniversary Edition vinyls
Not all that rare mind
>>
>Fishmans - Long Season LP
>Coil - Ape of Naples on red vinyl from this summer, I guess people are charging $60+ for that on Discogs now
>The Antlers - In The Attic of the Universe original CD in a digipak, beautiful and one of my favorite pieces in my collection but I'm thinking of giving it to a close friend for Christmas

Nothing else of note, I don't think. I have colored variants of all the Dan Barrett stuff Flenser put out in the past few years but I don't think those really fetch a lot. All some of my favorites though

>>69646425
>>69646386
More than I was expecting. Maybe I'll just get some of the vinyl sets from the eras that I like the best. Rat Conspiracy in particular looks dope as fuck.

I wish I had snapped up the New Plastic Ideas cassette when it went up on Discogs in October. Still kicking myself over that one.
>>
>>69650196
How did you get it straight from him? I still kind of want the Oblivion Access/Trick Dice tapes and/or LPs and dealing with that dude is a pain

Also if I didn't like meme music I sure as shit wouldn't be thinking about spending nearly 200 bucks on a boxset from the artist that wrote "Tell Dem Boys Ima Skeleton"

According to Discogs, my most expensive album is a white vinyl version of the MOTHER OST. The rarest I own would probably be an album from the 70s by the Suffolk County Community College Jazz Ensemble that I found at my grandparents house. I don't have a photo of it on hand, and it's practically nonexistent online.

RSD is bullshit. 99.9% of the time those rare pieces do not go to any actual fans. Here in my city people were lined up at 5:30 AM to grab them, and they immediately flip them online. i think its hilarious the DG record from this black friday is only going for about $40 bucks or so, and there are tons of copies out there.
