why are they so scared of abandoning the guitars?
>>
Why would they abandon possibly the most versatile instrument in existence that one of their members is a master at playing?
>>
>>69628192
its just an instrument dude, they use it when it feels right
>>
>>69628290
Strum~strum~strum

ZOMG! SO VERSATILE
>>
>>69628290
You men Ed right
>>
>>69628324
t. someone who doesn't know how to play an instrument
>>
>>69628324
>Presses keys

Omg so versatile!
>>
>>69628344
inorite, you can go faster or slower, it's amazing!!!!1!1!!
>>
>>69628290
why would the most versatile instrument not be piano when it has appeared just about everywhere in the past 200 years
>>
>>69628369
Nowhere did I imply a disdain for modular synths. Nice strawman.

Filtered.
>>
>>69628421
because its static compared to the tonal chameleon that is the electric guitar
>>
>>69628421
yes your right only ever playing the piano is the path to making the most versatile music possible well done
>>
>>69628421
why would the most versatile instrument not be drums when it has appeared everywhere for the past 20000 years
>>
>>69628421
I don't necessarily disagree with you but the piano is far less accessible and doesn't really have a tonal range as wide as the electric guitar.
>>
This is a troll thread.
>>
>>69628450
>>69628465
wait when we say "versatile" are we talking about tonal colors or how many times its been used

bc the giitah exceeds it in the former but the piano in the latter
>>
>>69628465
piano = anything with keys
>>
>>69628192

because they're a rock band
>>
>>69628515
guitar = anything with strings
>>
>>69628192
>he doesn't enjoy Jonny and Ed's licks
>>
>>69628508
>able to adapt or be adapted to many different functions or activities.
>>
>>69628569
yeah and the piano has been used in like every genre
>>
>>69628561
no thanks

electronic music is so much better
also there are actually cool instruments they can use such as violins, harpsichords and clavichords
>>
>>69628561
Everyone knows that Jonny truly shines playing the Ondes Memenot
>>
>>69628597
But a piano always sounds like a piano.
>>
>>69628653
that doesn't change the fact that it's been in common use for far longer than a guitar (save for like lute shit that dropped out of popular use)
i guess it just depends on how much you weigh each aspect of versatility anyway
>>
>>69628719
so by those standards the answer to the question is drums
>>
>>69628754
sure
>>
>>69628754
computer
>>
>>69628610
>electronic music is so much better
pleb
>>
>>69628719
But that's not what versatility implies. You're thinking on longevity. A piano always has the function of sounding like a piano. The function of "sounding like a piano" is a lot less dynamic than the function of "sounding like a guitar."
>>
>>69628653
Comparing "piano" and "electric guitar" without including the synthesizer keyboard, electric piano / organ, prepared piano, etc. is intellectually dishonest because the electric guitar's sound is a result of a marriage between the physical interface (the guitar) and the amplifier.

>>69628793
This is nonsense.
>>
>>69628773
OK, computer.
>>
>>69628804
analog bitch
>>
>>69628804
Synthesizers and organs aren't pianos.
>>
>>69628427
can you adopt a name as well so i don't have to see your crybaby ass?
>>
>>69628192
Because using guitars sells more tickets and records
>>
>>69628887
An "electric guitar" in the sense it is being used isn't a guitar. See how that works ?

It isn't about fear.
It's about doing the thing you know, the thing you love, doing it well, pushing it to the outer limits, as far as you can, and beyond.
