Learning how to play this one right now.
Can anyone suggest a song about this level of difficulty by someone who isn't Chopin?

Why you gotta be like that, anon? You knew what I meant. Do you take pleasure in hurting others?

I find Rubinstein's playing sometimes a little timid. Not that I don't like this interpretation but I like Engerer's more: https://youtu.be/liTSRH4fix4?t=1h45m11s
This is really great though:

This triggers me. Also, Engerer...
Also, don't underestimate Chopin nocturnes in terms of difficulty.
How difficult would you say 'Liebesleid' is? I want to learn this song by myself, though I wonder whether it's better to learn easier songs before moving onto songs for more experienced players.

Yeah I know song is technically incorrect but I didn't even think about it when I typed it. I only started playing/listening to Chopin about 6 months ago. I learned Op. 9 No. 2 relatively easily and Op. 9 No. 1 is going pretty smoothly. I've almost learned the entire first page after about a week and a half.
Should I spent the money on a good teacher? Whenever I learn sheet music or standards I feel like it's not really worth it and I don't feel like I am playing the tune right. I am really considering getting a teacher especially since I am looking to get into real jazz

I took guitar for many years and tried to apply some of the same practices (although it's obviously not coming as quickly since I have less time with piano as the instrument). But the short story is I understand composition and chord structure, tonal progressions, scales, etc. I just need a kick in the right direction as to how to practice piano effectively. Especially concerning voicing because compared to guitar there's so many opportunities and options for chord voicings on piano

>tfw still need to practice piano and been at a wall in my progress for years
>tfw started learning guitar and no clue how to play song i wanna learn

Yeah this is definitely a very similar feeling. I think I am gonna put money into an instructor, at least for a month. Now it just comes down to finding out who's the best in the area...
This is the definitive piano piece

Makes me want to kill myself desu.

Finding one seems to be the biggest problem sadly..
>tfw parents never had you learn an instrument as a kid
What's the fucking point now? I'll never be good.
>>69625732
You have still time to be great.
Wes Montgomery started playing guitar with 19 years and practiced while working at a factory.

This so fucking much. I've always been jealous of kids who were taught from childhood.
Personally, I wouldn't have cared if it was strict and relentless.
>>69626076
Yep as a kid you're to dumb to know either way.
The role of parents is so fucking big. If you have parents who dgaf and just let you play all day you're fucked.
