which is better
white album
bigger is better with the beatles
I mean the consensus is right.
White Album has better individual parts.
Abbey Road has better cohesiveness
Abbey Road has more band interplay and is a more cohesive album while The White Album sounds more like a bunch of solo tracks thrown together but I'm not a rockist so none of that really matters to me. I like both but Abbey Road is my favorite Beatles record.
I'd rather listen to the white album.
Anyone else feel like Paul was totally checked out on the white album? Most of his songs on it are either bad or just unremarkable.

He got way too into his granny music hall pieces on the white album, yeah.

Kind of. I mean, Ob La Di is Paul, and it's really only good because of John.
Helter Skelter though.

Most of abbey road and sgt peppers are nothing but 'granny music' just in a way that isn't as bumfuck obvious as Honey Pie

It's just that they are all very indicative of Paul's songwriting. You could argue the same thing about all of the John songs if you wanted to (Dear Prudence, Revolution, etc).
The main reason The Beatles worked so well is that Paul's histrionic extroverted love songs style and John's more introverted socially conscious introspective style played off each other and kept each other in check. This was sort of lost on most of The White Album because there was little interplay between the members when it was written. This becomes even more apparent if you compare McCartney I (the cherries album) directly with John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band.
That's not to say either one of them was inherently better or worse than the other.
