I depends on how you look at them.

RV is like Seulgi on kpg. No one hates them, almost everyone likes them, and a few love them. And that's their issue, they aren't that one group for most people, they're just enjoyed my a vast majority.

I think a lot of it is neglectful management. They know the group can skirt by on vocal talent, so they use them to boost shitty SM web-interview show attempts, or do that dumb experimental Vlive stuff like laying on a bed.Yeri fucked off for 2 months and they were just like, "sure, yea, whatever." It's a shame, but SM is also keeping f(x) on the backburner and trying to push SNSD till they fall over in arthritic pain so who knows what the plan is.

So it's hard to say. They are absolutely popular in the sense that the general consensus is that they are a liked group. They aren't if you think of it in terms of who people may rank in their top 3 favorite.

Without accounting for personal biases? I really don't know about that. I don't mean who would people say are the "best" girl groups at the moment, I mean who they'd label as their "favorite."

I just don't think they draw in and hold fans, or they don't seem to from my perspective. Personally, I love RV. They are my favorite, but I don't try to convince myself that others feel that way.
