Can you tell me the difference between them?
>>69582710
yes
>>69582729
lol
>>69582729
A rest of some kind? Go the fuck away.
>>69582710
I'm in music theory in college.
Sharp brings notes up half a step,
Flat brings a note down half a step.
Neutral removes any sharp/flat previously set for that note in a measure/key.
>>69582729 (Dead)
Wow, this faggot was so embarrassed at his shit answer he deleted his post.
sure can.
>>69582824
so you can just say
"a half step"
>>69582841
too bad for him, we now all know his name and he will never live it down, we will follow him to the ends of 4chan, we are legion :^)
>>69582710
what is this, elementary school?
Can you tell me what this is?
>>69582824
no one wants your 12 year old answer
we're asking if you can tell how it sounds in music
>>69582710
just covering notes that arent natural
A flat note is a semitone below its letter name
A sharp note is a semitone above its letter name
>>69582729
I think that's a natural sign
>>69582882
Hostility isn't warranted. The OPs question didn't clarify that.
>>69582878
that's a skididdley-woop-a-loop
>>69582824
You're not fooling anyone, mr. "the other is a rest of some kind"
>>69582769
>>69582819
>>69582841
>>69582877
>mfw
So C# = Db.. isn't it.??
>>69582905
Yup, although the technical term is "glissando." It means "slide your hand across the keys like a toddler."
>>69582935
and also E natural
>>69582949
...what?
>>69582710
one is a hashtag, other is a b, the other is a nazi symbol
>>69582969
notes are entirely arbitrary
>>69582920
I wasn't that guy.
>>69582969
it's ebonics
'e natural = he is a natural at music theory
>>69582999
You were indeed.
>>69583019
I know damn well a neutral isn't 'a rest'. I wasn't even here to see that post.
>>69582898
autism isnt warranted
>>69583019
no he wasn't
>>69583037
Of course you weren't.
half step in either direction.
why does # and b exist.? Why not just # or b.?
>>69582993
that doesn't make any sense. E natural is not Db or C#
>>69583091
equal temperment
>>69583108
in your opinion.
>>69583076
One is more woebegone the other feels positive. That's the best way I can contextualize it with my experience. (trying to describe sound) I don't know the specific notation for anything, really. But if someone puts up a number I can figure it out because of the aforementioned note feel.
>>69583091
For the circle of fifths.
Otherwise, the B flat major would not be a fifth below F major, because it would be A sharp major instead
>>69582710
hashtag, b, lightning bolt
next.
